ePRO APP - The first JAVA MIDLET eDiary solution (ePRO) for use on mobile phones, smartphones, PDAs, Tablets and PCs - online connectivity is not required.

A more efficient way to gather data from patients, care givers and sites that is simple and quick to set up and easy to use by all trial participants.

Who is it for?

Our ePRO APP solution improves upon the now familiar but complex handheld / PDA ePRO technology. The enhancements are significant:

• Patients can use their own cell phone, Smartphone, PDA or computer or Exco InTouch can provide a suitable cell phone to patients if required.
• Offline capability is supported and data will be sent to the central Exco InTouch servers whenever a mobile signal is resumed.
• ePRO APP uses powerful but simple software to:

1. force easy loading of updates "over the air" making it simple for patients and sites
2. ensure regulatory compliance.
3. provide privacy and data protection.
4. ensure intuitive use.

This simple solution is the perfect, fully functional eDiary to gather your Patient Reported Outcome (PRO), Quality of Life (QoL), Clinical Scales / Assessments, site survey, or Health Economics Outcomes data.

How it works

ePRO APP delivers the eDiary application directly to the patients' cell phone in a similar way to the new 'iPhone Apps' you might have seen.

At a minimum we only require two data connections:

1. At setup
2. At completion

This makes this solution perfect for use in hospitals, sites or for studies where patients may have poor mobile network coverage in some areas.

However, recorded data will be sent from the phone throughout the trial whenever a mobile signal is established 

This is how it works:

1. The site logs on to the Exco InTouch, secure ePRO APP portal and enters the patients' mobile phone number.
2. The portal automatically sends a service text message to the cell phone.
   In some cases site staff will register their own phone. For example if a study nurse was using the application to screen suitable patients at the bedside or conduct site surveys.
3. The link in the message is selected and the application is automatically downloaded to the device and started ready for the site to enter the subject credentials.
4. The subject is prompted to perform: 
      -  a secure password setting routine.
      -  read and confirms that they understand the instructions.
      -  completes training diary before leaving the site.
      -  ePRO APP records and encrypts the data in these sessions. 
      -  when completed the user can begin diary completion as per the alerts and reminders.
5. As soon as the device senses data sending capability it transmits the encrypted data.
6. Once the server confirms safe receipt the data is deleted automatically from the device.
7. While connected it checks the device, diary version and automatically loads any protocol amendments that may be needed.
