Exco InTouch announces the appointment of Madhav Vattikuti as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Vattikuti’s role will see him use his significant technology expertise and background to strengthen delivery and development of Exco InTouch’s market leading mobile technology into vertical markets such as eClinical, mHealth and Late Phase.

Exco InTouch announces the appointment of Mark Brincat as Product Development Director. Brincat brings to Exco InTouch a wealth of experience in progressing innovative and visionary concepts into proven regulatory compliant products that offer tangible benefits to biopharmaceutical sponsors. The new appointment will see Brincat lead the strategy and development of Exco InTouch’s range of patient-centric services and mHealth solutions, with particular focus on the advancement of engagement solutions targeted to specific therapy areas that can be pre-configured to the challenges of a particular disease and patient population.

Take Control of Patient Communication, Reduce Missing Data, and Maximize Compliance and Retention
The Challenge - Both FDA and the EMEA have put greater emphasis on the collection of full data sets for trial participants, with a particular focus being on the collection of data for critical endpoints at specified time points, as well as reason for withdrawal from study medication data. Statistically, over 85% of clinical trials in the US fail to recruit or retain enough patients, with the average patient drop-out rate across all clinical trials surveyed at 30%. High non-completion rates such as these can result in decreased quality of data, ineffective use of time and reduced statistical power in a study.

Exco InTouch today announced another success in the prestigious European Outsourcing Awards, held in Frankfurt on 26 October 2011. In the second year running that the company has received the EOA award, Exco InTouch has been honoured with the accolade of ‘Best eBusiness/IT strategy’, which recognizes Exco InTouch’s collaboration with Pfizer. The study, which focused on new Research on Electronic Monitoring of OAB Treatment Experience (REMOTE), is the first Participatory Patient-Centred (PPC) clinical trial to be conducted. The Phase 4 trial was facilitated with the use of proven mobile eDiary technology from Exco InTouch, enabling patients to participate regardless of location, age or proximity to site.

The awards, now in their 14th year, are an independent ranking of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in the UK, based on percentage growth in revenue over five years. Exco InTouch was placed as the 44th fastest growing company in the country and the 7th fastest growing company in the South East region. Receipt of the Fast 50 award is a significant achievement, recognising growth based on innovation and entrepreneurship. Exco InTouch’s win comes on the back of a recent growth investment from leading growth equity and venture capital group Scottish Equity Partners (SEP).
